Cate Wyatt-Magalian works as a studio artist in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  Her art work has been exhibited at Galleries and Museums in Hawaii, the continental United States, as well as Europe and Africa.

Highlights include Cate’s work which was in the 2011 Artists of Hawai'i at the Honolulu Museum of Art.  She was invited to show at the Downtown Art Center Collectors' Art Sale and Exhibition in 2025.  Her prints were juried into the Honolulu Printmakers Annual Exhibitions in 2011, and 2026 (Heat and Pressure).

In the continental United States;  she has exhibited in Museums and Galleries including juried shows, Solo exhibits, 2, 3, and 4 person shows at University, Colleges, Galleries, and Art Centers.  Cate has shown her work in Washington, Florida, Iowa, Georgia, Colorado, Alabama, and California.  Recently she has been invited to show in the Los Ángeles Center for Digital Art REBOOT show and 5 Electron Salons.  Cate participated in the juried exhibition Urban Landscape at The Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO.  Also she was invited to exhibit in Florida Focus: Northern Tropics at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art, Largo, Florida, showcasing regional artists whose works engaged with the distinctive ecology of the local environment.

Cate has also exhibited in Galleries and Museums in Europe and Africa:  Lessedra Gallery (currently), and National Palace Of Culture, Sofia, Bulgaria; Julussdalen, Norway; NI Institute and Museum, Bitola, also in Prilep, Resen, Skopje, Stip, Republic.of Macedonia; Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center, Alexandria, Egypt, and Mahmoud Mokhtar Museum, Cairo, Egypt.  Her work has also been shown in the Douro Museum, Alijo, Portugal, and Espaco Miguel Torga, Sabrosa, Portugal.

Currently she was invited to participate in the first and second editions of MAPPING PRINTMAKING | Work in Progress World Book online.

Cate’s work has been reviewed in Art Papers.  Her work is in various private collections, and the public collections of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center, Alexandria, Egypt; Douro Museum, Alijo, Portugal; Lessedra International Art Collection, Sofia, Bulgaria; Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, Los Angeles, California; Museum of Fine Art, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida; and the NI Institute and Museum, Bitola, Republic of Macedonia.

 

 

Cate taught art for 14 years in the art departments at Florida State University and Eckerd College.  
 


 

She received a Master of Fine Art and a Bachelor of Art in Painting from University of South Florida, as well as a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University.
